Pour Down Like Silver


Ghanian/Nigerian sculptor El Anatsui garnered much praise at this year's Venice Biennale. Here's my take on his travelling survey show, currently at the UCLA Fowler Museum. This is a detail from "Skin of Earth," one of the artist's signature pieces assembled from thousands of flattened aluminum liquor bottle caps.

Seen this artists work often at the October Gallery but seldom elsewhere here.. what i wanna know is what u gonna do with them corks?
